Privacy

This site has no cookies, no analytics, no forms and no embedded third-party content. The only personal data that comes up is what every web server records when it answers a request. This page says what that is, who holds it, and what your rights are.

What the server receives when you open a page

The site is static files hosted by ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich, Inhaber René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. To send you a page, the server has to receive your browser's request, which includes:

Purpose and legal basis: delivering the pages you ask for. That is a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Access logs: the server keeps no log with your full IP address. Logging is set up so that IP addresses are anonymized before anything is stored, or not logged at all, so a stored entry can't be traced back to you.

Processor: All-Inkl processes this data on my behalf as a web host under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers are in Germany; no data is transferred outside the EU. All-Inkl's own privacy information is at all-inkl.com/datenschutzinformationen.

The sign-up list for sessions in Nice

If you sign up on the home page, your email address is sent by email to my inbox, together with the time you signed up and the sentence you agreed to. Nothing is stored on the web server, and no mailing-list service is involved. The email leaves through All-Inkl's mail server (named above) and arrives in my Gmail inbox, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may process data in the US; its parent company, Google LLC, is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. I keep the list of addresses myself.

Purpose and legal basis: emailing you about Language by Doing sessions in Nice, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box.

Retention: until you unsubscribe (reply to any email from me, or write to the address on the legal notice), and at the latest 24 months after you signed up if no session has been announced by then.

Suggestions sent from an idiom page

Each idiom page has a form for corrections and example sentences. It stores what you type, the kind of suggestion you picked, the page it's about and the time, in a small database on the web server at All-Inkl. It does not store your IP address, a cookie or anything else that identifies you. If you write your name or email address into the text yourself, it is stored with the suggestion, used only to deal with it (for example to reply), and deleted along with it.

Purpose and legal basis: improving the idiom pages, a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: each suggestion is deleted once it has been dealt with, and at the latest after 12 months. To have a suggestion deleted sooner, write to the address on the legal notice and quote the page and the rough time.

No cookies, no tracking, no fonts from outside

The site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. There is no analytics service, no advertising, no social media buttons and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to agree to. Fonts are served from this site's own server, not from Google or another font service.

Pages link to other sites (Wiktionary, Tatoeba, Creative Commons). Nothing is sent to them until you click a link; from then on their privacy policies apply.

Your rights over data about you

Under the GDPR you can ask me, at the address above:

Outside the sign-up list, no full IP addresses are stored, so there is usually no other data about you to hand over or delete. You can also complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, or the authority where you live.

If this page changes

If the site ever adds a form, a newsletter, analytics or anything else that handles personal data, this page will say so before it goes live.
