How do people use Wenn Ostern und Pfingsten auf einen Tag fallen
?
Colloquial German (Duden marks it “umgangssprachlich”). It usually closes a sentence about something that won’t happen: “Der zahlt nur, wenn Ostern und Pfingsten auf einen Tag fallen.” People often say “fällt” in the singular, treating the two holidays as one event. The Weihnachten version means exactly the same.

Where does Wenn Ostern und Pfingsten auf einen Tag fallen
come from?
The joke is in the calendar: Pentecost (Pfingsten) always falls seven weeks after Easter Sunday, so the two can never land on the same day. Christmas and Easter can’t either, which gives the Weihnachten version. German Wiktionary cites both forms from the Duden dictionary of idioms (Redewendungen). Neither source gives a first recorded use. Dutch has the same saying: “als Pasen en Pinksteren op één dag vallen”.
Mistakes learners make with Wenn Ostern und Pfingsten auf einen Tag fallen
Getting the case wrong after “auf”: it’s “auf einen Tag” (accusative), not “auf einem Tag”. Things “fall onto” a date in German, so the accusative is the one you want.
